Below is an assortment of "kid's cooking" content & shows available on YouTube.com (as of May 2007). The segments are compiled to illustrate the quality of what's apparently adequate for this genre. We hope you'll agree that none of these segments (including "Spatulatta," which has even been featured on NBC's Tonight Show with Jay Leno) come even close to the format, fun, pacing & overall quality of communication prevalent with RRK, Jr. Some key topics include:

MUSIC. Is there some unwritten rule saying kid's music has to be annoying? Anyone who knows any kid over 6 years old knows they - along with a parent, or older sibling - are listening to "adult" artists. Integrating good music helps hold a young viewer's attention.

"ADULT" CONTENT. For anyone who thinks kids can't handle "adult" information, or that the content needs to be dumbed-down... we invite them to look around. Kids today are fluid with computers, software programs, the Internet, high-tech video games and cameras, cable TV, special effects, etc. They're programmed to learn, and learn fast.

FIRE & KNIVES. While most parents don't seem to give a second thought to their kids getting hurt playing sports - or even getting banged up learning to ride a bike, or a skateboard - a puzzling mindset often comes into play when it's time to use a knife or a burner. Fact is, heat and knives are integral to cooking; We feel the best approach is teaching a child the RIGHT way to use both, which keeps accidents to a minimum.
